Movie Assessment: Remember Me
When it comes to acting, your initial major role will make or break you. It will really most likely decide how you are remembered as a performer. "New Moon" top man Robert has been what some may think about lucky he hit the mainstream running with a role in the fourth Harry Porter film and then correct away made his mark as Edward in the "Twilight" series. But the young actor appears determined to prove he's not just a pretty face for teenage girls to oggle at. Earlier this year, he starred in the small-acknowledged drama "Little Ashes," in which he played the young Salvador Dali. Subsequent year he's starring in the romantic drama "Remember Me," and judging by the newly released trailer, he might have a lot more talent than a lot of give him credit for.

The film is about a young man (Pattinson) desperately looking for which means in his life. He's undecided on what he wants to do with his education, he's introverted, and he cannot appear to quit beginning trouble, and his wealthy father (Pierce Brosnan) is tired of needing to bail him out. He soon meets a stunning girl (Emilie de Ravin of "Lost"), and as they grow to be close, her overprotective and violent father (Chris Cooper) is determined to preserve them apart.
The film, directed by Allen Coulter ("Hollywoodland") and co-written by Jenny Lumet (whose screenplay for "Rachel Getting Married" garnered plenty of acclaim final year), looks like a wonderful move for Pattinson, who even at such a young age also serves as executive producer. It appears suitably removed from his "Twilight" persona, but not so considerably that it will isolate his main fanbase like his a lot more bizarre role in Tiny Ashes may have. The role could definitely lead to a far more broad fanbase.
Pattinson aside, the film looks fantastic, and I'm often content to see Brosnan in a dramatic role (he was excellent, for example, in "The Matador"), and Chris Cooper is virtually always at the leading of his game, especially as a stern father-figure, which he pulled off extraordinarily well in "American Beauty."
This is certainly one thing to maintain an eye out for. The film is planned to be released in March.
